A character seeking to become a member of the Suomi Troupe must fulfill requirements of service in order to attempt to advance. The character must: 1. Be a Suomi Culture Advocate for at least six months/four Deochs; 2. Have no proposals of "No Confidence" initiated against them during the past six months; 3. Write a notice of intent to advance to the Burgess or an active Troupe member, which must be copied to the in-game Suomi Troupe board, and notification given on out of game forums and chat services. This notice must be given at a Suomi Troupe meeting. The character may notify the Troupe at that meeting in as much detail as they see fit. The notice of intent to advance may include, but is not limited to: what you have accomplished during your time as a Culture Advocate; what events you have attended, assisted in running, or planned; how your roleplaying skills have improved during this period; other roleplayers and/or institutions you have influenced (such as, a temple); why you think you should be allowed to advance to Troupe. A notice of intent will be available for all Troupe members and Burgesses to vote on until the next scheduled Suomi Troupe meeting, with votes being posted in-game on the Suomi Troupe board, or cast at that meeting. At the end of the voting period, if the candidate passes a majority vote, and no objections from any acting Burgess, the vote succeeds and the advocate may advance to Troupe.
Amended 2.16.2020 -- Lowered voting period to 1 week, changed 60% to simple majority, and notices of intent are now to be handled at meetings, voting opened during a meeting and results finalized the following meeting.
